You will need to work this out with your customer. If you can't deliver on your product / service then you will likely need to refund any amounts you've been paid to this point, unless you can come to an agreement to keep what's been paid for what's been delivered to this point.

You should never spend the money before you are sure your buyer is satisfied. This is one of the reasons PayPal often holds funds, which of course upsets people when they do that, but it avoids this exact problem.

You're going to need to come up with that money to pay back the refund. Either that or work out a deal with your buyer one way or another.
