Goods damaged in transit: paid for using Goods & Services

I sold and sent an item which was paid for using Goods & Services. I kept proof of postage. It has arrived damaged with the buyer. I’m not sure what to do next to ensure the buyer gets a refund and I so I don’t lose out on money?

You refund the buyer and then claim from Royal Mail if you sent insured.

If you didn't then that was your risk to take and you would sadly lose the funds for that sale.
