zettle card reader has trouble reconnecting

When my zettle card reader "goes to sleep" between transactions, I must power it down to reconnect. What' going on with that?

I’m having the same issue.  It’s infuriating.  My reader won’t even reconnect half the time and then I have to have my clients pay another way or send them an invoice, and then they aren’t even able to leave a tip.  VERY DISSATISFIED WITH BOTH THE READER AND APP.  I used PayPal here for 10 years with no issues, but now I’m considering switching to a completely different system

Thank you both for posting in the Community Forum, and welcome/welcome back! I can understand how difficult it is to conduct business when you're having issues with the Zettle reader, and I hope we can get those issues resolved to get you back on track!

 

To allow for proper troubleshooting for your individual issues, please contact Customer Service. A representative can assess the nature of the issue, troubleshoot to try to resolve it, and if necessary, forward the information to technicians for further review.

I am having similar issues as well. I use Zettle for transactions primarily at tradeshows. The reader doesn't stay connected to the tablet and requires reconnecting fairly often. It takes quite a while each time and annoys our customers. I am NOT happy with the transition to Zettle from PP here. PP here didn't seem to have these issues with the readers. I too am looking to move to another processing option as Zettle seems to be in need of serious improvements, but I don't want to be the beta tester for PP. I am glad to see that PP/Zettle FINALLY added the ability to enter customer info.

It is a pain! I have multiple employees at a trade show. The readers go to sleep during a lull and then suddenly we have no available reader to process a transaction.
