unable to login via the android business app, keeps crashing imediately after sending security text

Hi
I'm trying to transfer my paypal business app to a new phone. It works on my old one. I also have the correct login and password details as I can login on my pc. I enter my email address and password and it then offeres to send a text with a code. Regardless of if I select sms text or whatsapp text, as soon as I press "Next" the app crashes and closes. It sends me the code by text, but my app has closed and when I open the app it goes back to the beginning and asks for user name and password.
I have tried clearing cache and data and also removed the app and re-installed. Same problem.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE with android 14
Any advice with be gratefully received.

I am sorry to know that you've run into some issues with accessing your account through app. As you have already tried the troubleshooting like uninstalling and reinstalling the app, please also check if you are using latest version and the application is updated. If the issue persists, please get in touch with the Support Team to troubleshoot this matter further.
