Xero invoice paid via Paypal, payment not showing up in Paypal or bank account. Paypal customer service said they could not help.

There is a major Xero issue which started last Sunday and four days on then payments have still not been resolved. Xero support state "Our Product team is currently aware of an issue where payments have been directed to our Xero PayPal account. We are in the process of working with PayPal to have these paid to the correct account.". Basically it seems they were testing out a new integration with Paypal and in my personal opinion then a software engineer who was testing out the system by sending payments to themselves forgot to turn payments back to the proper recipient after turning it live. So far only generic responses from Xero and no monies have been paid to us for days so literally thousands out of pocket currently. I presume this is effecting literally thousands of UK companies but nothing is being reported in the business press so presume someone is trying to suppress it.

Thank you! It's caused us such an embarrassment. I Just got the following from Xero: "We can now confirm that these funds have been correctly paid out into your PayPal account. Please note that because of this issue, these payments won't show a reference to the actual payee. You should be able to reconcile these payments as normal using Find and Match in the bank reconciliation screen."
