when i use tap-to-pay with Paypal in stores, sometimes the reader seems to process the transaction as a debit card and asks me for a PIN, and also if i want cashback; even though i'm using a credit card to pay for the Paypal transaction. it doesn't happen in all stores, only certain ones. does anyone know why?

Hello, @pqrs_987. Thanks for taking the time to add your question here on the PayPal Community Forum.
Merchants set up card terminals based on their preferences, and PayPal has no way to predict which might operate in one way or in another way. Please check with the merchant on how their terminals are set up and how to navigate options such as entering a PIN and any cashback feature.
I hope this is helpful. Thanks for being a part of the PayPal Community!
Sincerely,
Michael
