Paypal app shut down after login

Hi guys, based in Germany, am on vacation with my family now in Egypt. After my mother in law logged in into my PayPal app from my Samsung phone ZFold 5 mobile I am not able anymore to login with my own account on my device. After typing my login credentials and click on login it asks me to confirm pictures due to security reasons. Once confirming it it closes my PayPal app with no error message. I have generally activated my 2FA. My PayPal app version is the latest one 8.53.1. Strangely when I try to login once again with the credentials of my mother in law it works perfectly fine?! Asking for 2FA etc. My own login via web browser works as well fine. Reinstallation of app, cache, rebooting my device etc. has been done several times. Any hints so far? Your best bet is to not use a country specific paypal account internationally and to wait to sort things out when you return home.

But if you want to try and sort things now you would need to contact customer services.

 

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

When traveling, a login from a different country than where your PayPal account is registered can appear like an attempt by a third party to take over your account. Due to this, PayPal heavily limits and often prevents use of an account while traveling.

Many thanks and Kudos to you. Had the same idea. But how stupid that login with mother in laws account works fine as well as the webbrowsing access. Guess that's called algorithm. So there is no solution for me such as unblocking it for me?
