PayPal business app crashes during verification

When logging in to the Business PayPal app on Android, the app crashes after I select the verification option (Sms/WhatsApp/Phone call) as you submit your option, you see the boxes for the code, then the app crashes before you receive the code. It doesn't close the app though though, but loses focus. If you click on it, it reopens but asks you to login again and this process loops with no way to access my account via the app. I've uninstalled the app, cleared the cache and removed data. Nothing works. The website works fine, but I prefer the app. Also, the Fingerprint option will not work to login. I've redone my fingerprints, removed them, added them, also as above, deleted the cache and data, uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Nothing works for this either. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (1tb/8gb) version with the latest security patch (December 2023m). I really need the app to work. Anyone else having this issue? Or has fixed it? The standard app works fine with no issues for either of the above.

Yes I am having this issue too. Just switched to a Google Pixel 8 and now can't access the app because it crashes at the two factor authentification.
I just spoke to someone at Paypal for about half and hour and she insisted that it was a problem that my phone service provider had to fix!

Her other suggestion was that I keep my old phone working to continue using the app!
I mean it all sounds so ridiculous now I'm writing it all down!

I wondered if I could turn off the two factor temporarily from my account but that didn't seem to be an option.

I guess I'll be logging into the website from my phone for the time being.

I was planning to get a Zettle to take payments this year as Paypal discontinued my old card reader. This has kinda knocked my confidence in Paypal a bit tbh. They've been pretty good on the phone when i've rung them in the past.

Come on Paypal! Your app is crashing, can you fix it please?

Hi Alexandra, I think PayPal made it mandatory to use 2fa. Though, you can't even use your fingerprint via the app as it doesn't work, at least for me. Only the phone (call you) option works. The excuse from PayPal is very typical. I had many issues with my banking app. Mostly authentication issues. It turned out that my banks security wasn't good enough and everytime Samsung/Android did a security patch/update it broke the authentication. Eventually my bank admitted they were behind in updating their security when updates rolled out. I figure it's the same with PayPal. Tha standard app works well, the business one fails constantly, which is also a failure by PayPal. If they cared about businesses, they would fix the issues here. It's typically a typical guilty response to blame others. It's not our phones, it's PayPal's slow uptates that's the problem. If they communicated with phone manufacturers better, they would have early fixes. But in the meantime, us business owners/users suffer for their shortcomings.
