Pay in 4 took money without actually purchasing anything

So I was gonna buy an item online and wanted to check what my payments would be with pay in 4. when I clicked the pay in 4 to see, it automatically charged my debit card and my bank took the full amount out of my account, but yet my PayPal activity doesn’t show anything matching the amount the bank took. I called PayPal and they couldn’t find said transaction or any history of this. my bank said it’s just a processing transaction currently. I’m so confused and I want my money back….

Hello @Blakey91

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

I'm sorry to hear that your payment went through when it wasn't supposed to, and it's showing a larger amount in your bank than PayPal. It sounds like you have an authorization on your bank's side. Authorizations typically fall off after ten days, but some banks can take up to 30 days to remove them. If it still shows the full amount after 30 days, please grab a copy of your bank statement and reach out to Customer Support again. You may be instructed to file a billing dispute, but they may also be able to review the statement without one to investigate further.

I hope this helps!
