My Payment Requests are being canceled

Several of the Payment Requests I've sent last year (but not all) have been showing on my activity as "Canceled - Request Sent".
The person I have sent these requests has forwarded notifications from PayPal stating that I have canceled these Payment Requests, but I did not cancel them, nor I have received any kind of notification on my end from PayPal regarding any of these cancelations. I would have expected to at least get an email confirmation of each of these cancelations apparently I made so I could try to figure things out and not have to rely on one of my customers to do so.
I would like to know how is it possible that these requests have been canceled, and why is PayPal telling their recipients that I have canceled them when I have not.
