Ethereum Value

Hi, I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Just for fun I bought £50 worth of Ethereum back in Sept. I paid £51.15 after fees.

Over a few weeks I watched it slowly drop down to about £42.

Anyway, I checked yesterday and was very pleased to see that my holding is now worth £50.18 Hooray.

I checked today and Ethereum has gone up 5.54% but my holding is now worth £49.58. What's happening.
