Do customers that cancel a subscription receive the trial period again if they sign back up?

Hi all,

Hoping for some experinece of this from others...

  • We are about to create monthly subscription plans that have a free trial period of X days.
  • If a customer signs up, cancels some time later and then signs up again will they receive the trial period a second time or does PayPal know that they have already consumed it for that product and charge immediately?

I'm struggling to find anything in the documentation - can anyone here confirm either way? I'm hoping that PayPal will recognise that they've already had the freeness...

Many thanks,

Dave

Hello @ChicaChicAHH

Welcome back to the PayPal Community Forum!

I'm sorry to hear that you've been unable to find documentation that confirms if a buyer would receive a trial period if they set up a second subscription. I was able to locate information on trial periods in this Developer Document. If you search "Offer a trial period," you'll be able to locate it quickly. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact Customer Support by selecting 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal webpage.

I hope this helps!
