I am BEGGING for someone to assist me on this. I got off the phone from a half-hour call with PayPal customer support and they were *not* helpful whatsoever.
I have a PayPal Mastercard with Cashback Points tied into it. Today, I tried redeeming $112 that I had saved up with the card.
The PayPal site gave me an error after I input the amount I wanted to redeem and told me to try again later. So, I reloaded the page.
The amount I tried redeeming is gone from my Cashback Balance and is nowhere to be found elsewhere on my PayPal at all.
1. I tried calling Customer Support first.
2. They redirected me to Mastercard Support since they told me that they're the ones who handle the points/cashback rewards.
3. Mastercard Support "verified" that I redeemed $112 today—if that's the case then why don't I see it anywhere? I let them know exactly that and they redirected me back to Customer Support since they handle "balance" issues and anything of the sort.
4. Once I got back to Customer Support, they redirected me to yet ANOTHER dept. I forgot the name of this one.
5. This department asked me for my PayPal Mastercard card number, which I gave. THEY TOLD ME THE CARD WASN'T IN THEIR SYSTEMS. Yep, the credit card that PayPal themselves issued to me years ago which I had been using just fine wasn't showing up in their records. The assistant brought over their supervisor & lead operator to help check but nobody could resolve it.
6. They told me they'd redirect me back to Mastercard Support. I told this dept. that the Mastercard Dept. already tried, and the response I got was that if the Mastercard Dept. couldn't figure it out, then there's not much else they could do.
Are you for real? Is this a glitch on PayPal's end or something? I'm short $112 on reward points that I'd been saving up for months now and nobody can figure out where they went.

Yes! I am going thru this right now. First few people said 48 hours (even after it was 48 hours). Now another said a full billing cycle. I'm like what the heck? I've had this card for YEARS and never had this happen. I'm pretty sure my rewards are gone. I will give it a cycle but if I don't get them I am cancelling this card. It's too risky now.

Mine just disappeared (I hadn't even tried to redeem them). I haven't started the calls nightmare yet, but I'm also going to cancel if all those points I was saving are gone.

This just happened to my Boyfriend. He used his Wells Fargo points - over 300 dollars towards a purchase. There was some kind of glitch and when the page reloaded the money was gone. He tried Wells Fargo but they told them it was an issue on PayPal's side and he would have to call him. Hours later after speaking to multiple different people, he got to someone who said he was putting in an IT ticket. Asked him to be patient and check back in a few days to a week. When he checked back he was notified that PayPal had initiated a claim against the company he made the purchase from. They told him if PayPal did not hear back from the company they would step in and help. Of course the company responded because they were not the ones that had his money PAYPAL IS. This morning Paypal told him his claim was closed. The amount of run-around he has gotten is unacceptable. PayPal is out here stealing reward money and there is nothing you can do.....

This just happened to me as well! I tried using Paypal checkout using my Wells Fargo credit card and selected the checkbox to use my cash rewards towards the purchase. I was sent a transaction verification text from Wells Fargo to verify the purchase which I did. I went back to the Paypal purchase screen and the transaction was gone. I then went through the same process of making the purchase only this time my cache rewards balance was zero. I mistakenly thought that maybe the cash rewards were going to be credited to my Paypal account, that was a wrong assumption. I filed a dispute with Paypal and Wells Fargo. I contacted Wells Fargo and was told that it was up to Paypal to correct the issue and they closed my dispute. I contacted Paypal several times and was ultimately told by one of their rewards department supervisors that Paypal is just a payment processing company and that there was nothing they could do. I contacted Wells Fargo several times over the past 14 days and have been told by their rewards department supervisor that there isn't anything they can do about it because the cash rewards have already been deducted from my account.
Someone at Wells Fargo needs to get this figured out and resolved. They have a very big flaw in their rewards processing flow that needs to be fixed. Those cash rewards should NEVER have been sent before the transaction was verified and submitted. I know they can see the failed/abandoned credit card transaction in their system and I know they can tie my rewards transaction to it. It should be a VERY simple process to connect the dots and credit me back the money owed. No one wants to help and everyone wants to blame the other company. Take responsibility for your faulty system and make this right. The crazy thing is that if I would have reported a fraud transaction this would have been fixed and I'd already have my account credited. Someone has my cash rewards balance other than me and it doesn't belong to them..... smells like fraud to me.

Did Wells Fargo ever credit you back the rewards money? I attempted to use my WF rewards via paypal for a transaction that was instantly declined. The $95 has now seemingly disappeared into the ether. After a week's worth of back and forth calls between WF and PP, Wells Fargo is telling me it will take 30 business days. At this point I don't think they have any clue what they're talking about. I'm told it's with the "case resolution' team. Except I have no case number and no way of contacting said case team. So I guess I will wait 30 days days. I'm not hopeful.
