I understand you'd like to learn more about currency and PayPal gift cards. You can still use the gift card even though your primary balance is set in a different currency. Please keep in mind that if your purchase is in a different currency from the gift card, there may be a conversion. If you plan on using the second currency often, opening a second currency balance may also benefit you. There aren't any fees for doing so.
