Authorisation in progress

Hello everyone, I recently made a purchase at Good Guys Australia using the Pay in 4 instalments option. However, upon confirming the payment, I wasn't redirected back to the merchant's page, nor did I receive any payment or order confirmation from Good Guys Australia. Although the first instalment was immediately deducted from my bank account, it is currently showing as pending. The transaction in PayPal is displaying as "Authorisation in Progress," ****This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your payment method will cover the requested amount. Your payment method will be charged when your transaction is completed***** Despite this, when I contacted Good Guys Australia, they informed me that they haven't received the payment and therefore cannot release the goods. I'm perplexed by the lack of clarity surrounding this transaction. Unfortunately, I'm unable to cancel the transaction to use alternative methods to clear the payment and receive my goods. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation, and if so, what steps were taken to resolve the matter? I'm feeling quite frustrated and would appreciate any advice or insights. Thank you.

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
