AliExpress Pay-In-3 option used, but no order created.

Hi,
I just attempted to place an order on AliExpress. During checkout, I selected the payment method of PayPal - as I usually do - and noticed the Pay-In-3 option. Splitting the cost over three months sounded good, so I went for it. I filled out the information requested and proceeded with the payment.
The PayPal window closed, and I was brought back to the checkout screen. However no order has been created, and I have no record of the transaction on AliExpress. Furthermore, the items are still in my cart.
I checked PayPal summary and I have a Pay In 3 payment marked as "authorisation". According to the transaction details, this is because "This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your funding source will cover the payment. Your funding source will be charged when Pay in 3 completes your order."
So my question is this: Once PayPal confirms that I have the funding source, will my AliExpress order be created? I would have thought it would have at least created the order and marked it as unpaid, but this is not the case.
Thanks for any help

Hello @bp1999,
Welcome and thank you for visiting the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear there's been some confusion with a recent purchase through AliExpress. It sounds like when you had went back to your checkout screen, the transaction wasn't finalized. The AliExpress order most likely won't be created until you complete the checkout from their end. Once you complete your purchase with Pay in 3 and the merchant completes your order, the pending authorisation will be removed, and the down payment will be withdrawn from your specified payment method. If you do not complete your Pay in 3 transaction, the pending authorization will be automatically voided by PayPal within 72 hours of the pre-authorisation hold.
I hope that helps!
