state sales tax

i purchase a dash camera that was not as the seller described.  i received a $49.90 refund, however the california state sales tax of $4.24 was not refunded.  where did it go?  did i lose it?  is it floating around somewhere in outer space?  thanks.

Welcome to our Community Forums! I'm sorry to hear you didn't receive a full refund. Normally, when a seller initiates a full refund, the buyer will receive a full refund - sales tax included. If you did not receive a full refund, it's most likely because the seller chose to only send a partial refund.
