What @kernowlass said is true - typically, folks simply send a payment by logging in to PayPal and selecting the send money option to send you a payment, identifying you as the recipient by using your email address.
There is also a means of having a link set up so people can send you a payment by visiting the link! Check out the details about paypal.me in this article.
