"Payment not fulfilled" - did I get scammed?

Hello, I'll get straight to the point - I sent someone $6 for some goods on a multiplayer game, it was over Discord, and when I sent him the money he sent me these screenshots saying the payment had not been fulfilled and that I had to re-send him the same amount to him, thus I ended up giving him $12 in total:

Due to the grammar errors (Money Pending vs Money received and "deducted from you account") I wouldn't be surprised if I was scammed, he said afterward that I had to send yet another payment but obviously I wasn't going to do that. I just want to know if the additional information messages from PayPal are real or not, and is there any reason why something like this would happen in the first place? Thanks in advance.

Yeah looks like a scam.

Did you send it via family/friends or goods/services?

If the latter then open a dispute for non receipt of item or services via clicking on the transaction and using the report a problem option bottom of that details page.

Thanks for the input. It was sent with the friends and family option though, so guessing I have no options there, but ultimately its peanuts at this point. In any case I ought to take better care next time!

Sadly your right.

A friends / family (or gift payment) is intended as a transfer of funds from family or friends to one another. For this reason, there is no processing fee when payment is made with bank or PayPal balance.
However as it is a gift payment, there is also no Buyer protection as no goods or services should have been exchanged.

If he was not a close mate or family member you should never use that option as it enables the seller to evade paying his paypal fees and negates your buyer protection at the same time.

Be careful as using that option for purchasing goods is against Paypal rules and can lead to account limitation.

If you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact your card issuer and see if they will help you but unfortunately they may decline as well as it was a gift payment.
