personal payment - sent but not received..... do i get the money back??

I sent $250 to a friend. Due to some personal issues, he can no longer access his paypal account and cannot reset the password (trust me on this). I didnt realize this until after i sent the money. Therefore, he will never log in to transfer the money to his bank account. I tried filing a dispute, but since it's an authorized charge, Paypal will not cancel the transaction.  There is not a cancel option on this transaction for me to do either. And I cannot request a refund from my friend since he cannot log in to do so. Thus, my question is, will i get the money back automatically after a certain amount of time? 30 days? 90 days? etc.? Thanks.

If its completed / sent and he can't refund it AND you can't open a dispute for a personal payment then sadly it sits there.

Why doesn't he contact customer services and ask them to refund it for him?

OR failing that if you funded the payment via a credit card then ask your card issuer to do a chargeback.
