pending payment notification for payment that does not exist

I got an email forwarded from "PayPal" showing a pending payment for an item I was selling on eBay.  When I logged into my PayPal account it doesn't exist.  Anyone have something like this happen?  Of course I had marked the eBay item as sold, eBay charged me and now I have never received any money and been charged by eBay
