linked debit card and credit card

If I have a debit card setup as my preferred method when it reaches $0 balance will the remainder be charged to by credit card I have linked?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum!

When you make a purchase and you select your debit card, if you do not have enough balance the transaction would fail and a backup funding source may be charged for the full amount. When you pay using a card, in fact, the amount of the transaction would not be split. Only in case you pay using your PayPal balance, in case your balance does not cover the full amount, the remaining amount would be charged to a secondary funding source.
