i was paying a subscription which i didn't want, so i cancelled it while it was still pending. i got confirmation of its cancellation but my bank account was charged for the amount.
It sounds like the subscription was canceled going forward, not the payment. Once the payment is initiated, it cannot be canceled on the buyer's end. You will want to contact the merchant to request a refund. I hope this clears up any confusion!
