how do I set up a secondary payment source

I'm fine using my PayPal balance as primary payment.  But that defaults to my bank balance if it hits zero, and I want to tap my credit card instead.  Help!

Click on change during the payment process and select any added cards instead. or

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your prefered way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.

Doesn't work.  It simply changes my primary payment preference.
