help with canceling payment

Hi, I recently decided to purchase a clock off of a Facebook ad. I know, probably not the best idea, but it all looked legit.. until after I made the purchase and looking at the comments on Facebook. The clock is not at all how it's described for 99% of the customers. When I purchased it through newlifet.com it gave me the option to pay with PayPal or with a debit card. I chose debit card, entered all my information, and purchased but I get an email from PayPal with the receipt information, not the website I ordered from. I'm guessing because of a business deal of some kind. So I'm trying to cancel the payment because it says its still pending after a couple days. My bank says you'll have to talk to PayPal. of course their phone # service is automated and message center was automated... zero help, horrible customer service. The resolution center isn't showing anything either.. so I'm not sure what to do.

If you bought something online with a debit or credit card and did NOT log into your Paypal account then of course it won't show on that Paypal account because you bought as a 'guest buyer'.
However your seller may have processed that payment using their Paypal 'card reader' and so Paypal would show on your bank or card statement.

If you need to open a dispute for a 'guest buyer' transaction then you can.......

1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will open one for you (difficult at the moment due to covid)
OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
