e check clearing

how long does it take for an echeck to clear?? someone sent me a payment and says it will clear today but in paypal it still says pending

Give it a couple more days or when PayPal emails you informing that the payment has cleared and the it is ok to ship, also log on to double check when you receive this email. The date of clearance is estimated.
