I recently purchased (half an hour ago) something using paypal.
I would like to update the currency preference and pay by my local currency.
Please tell me how I can do this?

That is not possible with a completed transaction retroactively. You will need to cancel the order and ask merchant to refund you and do the transaction over again and selecting the correct currency during checkout.
