I need basic help accepting payment from someone

A bit of info on type of transaction and platform the seller is using would help.

Thanks; we sold an item to an individual and they "paid" us via Paypal. A notification was sent that the payment left that person's account. My Paypal account does not show a balance or payment received. Do I wait a day or two? If so, what then is the next step to get the payment from Paypal to my bank account?

Obviously, this is my first time...

ok bit concerned here, paypal payments are more or less instant although its best to allow a couple of hours.

If you have no payment showing then its one of two things.

1. A scam............eg if they sent a spoof paypal email saying you have to send to Nigeria or similar trackable before the payment shows.

2. The email address they sent the payment to had a spelling mistake in it.
