Wrongly addressed payment

Hi All Ive sent a payment out to a Gmail address instead of a hotmail address! The rest was the same but ive mixed those up on payment. Ive messaged the other party to see if they'll send me it back but no joy!! Anyone know how to resolve this?? Can Paypal re-imburse me and remove the funds from the account in question? Need help. I cant afford the slip up. Thanks

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?

1. Pending / Unclaimed.
2. Pending / Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Completed / Sent.
4. Pending / Uncleared.
