Wrong number

I recently made a payment via phone today and at the beginning of the automated call it asked me to verify my phone number and last four of my social. After I made my payment it asked if I wanted a text of the confirmation number which I replied yes. It proceeded to read back a phone number I've never heard of before nor have I ever used. Just wondering if anyone has ever had this issue before? I was not on Wifi at the time and I have no idea how it had that number to associate with my account.
