Why would PayPal not be able to use my bank?

Hey, so I've contacted actual PayPal support, but of course all I've received are a bunch of nonsense non-answers!! Anyways, the problem is that I can't use my bank account with PayPal at all. I used it for two transactions, which were processed a while ago, but now if I select PayPal at checkout anywhere, it tells me I need to add a debit or credit card. Even if I try to add funds to my PayPal balance from my bank account, I get an error message. There is more than enough money in the account to complete these transactions. I called my bank, and they've said the issue isn't from their end.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any help would be awesome as no one seems to have any answers for me 😞
