Turn off Pay after Delivery

Heello all,

I've been seaching the internet and this community for some time trying to find an answer to this question. Simply put I hate this feature.  It always makes me think I haven't spent money, which then surprises me when it leaves my account. I didn't sign up for this and do not require it. I feel that it is an unauthorised credit agreement.  You may argue that I need to manage my money better but I was doing just fine until paypal forced this upon me.

There seems to be no useful settings on my paypal at all. 'My Money' only allows me to select payment method. 'My Checkout Settings' just go back to my name and address. Nothing else has any relevence.

Paypal have been no help whatsoever. It feels that they are active in hiding this information, deliberately changing the webpage whenever someone reveals how to remove this feature. I don't see what benefit it would be to them but then I am not a tax avoidance specialist.

From what I can gather, you have to delete your bank account(s) to remove 'Pay after Delivery'.  I have yet to make a purchase to confirm this, so would appreciate it if anyone else could let me know if it worked for them.

This isn't a great solution.  I now can't withdraw money or add a bank account.

How to withdraw money if you remove your bank account?

Hope this helps this is what I did.

1: Add a savings account you can withdraw to that.

2: Or open a POKIT account same thing you can withdraw to that card to.

But you cannot add a direct debit to either of these. So the option to PAD will still not be available.

I want to reinstate the PAD option so I will have to re-add my bank account.

There is an option to '"turn off" the PAD option' and keep your bank account on your PayPal.

Yes if you remove either your bank account or the direct debit to same account via your banks website the PAD option will be turned off.

If you have any pending payments you will not be able to remove the bank account (card etc..) until the PAD is paid in full.
