Transfer not reflecting in Paypal account

Someone from overseas has payed me. I have received the notification, but the amount they have payed does not reflect in my PayPal account online. I am quite worried about this. Can anyone advise me?

Firstly are you sure its not a scam and they are sending you fake paypal emails???

If not then secondly what currency are they sending and have you added that currency as a receiving currency on your paypal account?

Have you verified your email address?
