When I buy goods from a UK eBay shop why is the payment going to China?

Item location may be UK based but seller is based in China.

You can usually tell by clicking on the sellers feedback and it normally then says their location.

Seller is shown as being UK based first you know payment is to China is after payment has been made I.e. the PayPal confirmation
