Seller claims didn’t receive money

Hi, recently a seller contacted me saying they hadn’t received my payment. I did receive the goods. The reference number is 4G589633BU846103W, how do I check whether my payment was completed succesfully?

What does it say next to the transaction in your Paypal account?

1. Pending / Unclaimed.
2. Pending / Unclaimed with a cancel option.
3. Completed / Sent.
4. Pending / Uncleared.
5. Pending awaiting authorisation.

I don’t see any of those in my transaction list, but when I filter on payments due it comes up with nothing. I think I only have completed payments, so it shows them as a whole list.

If completed then the problem may be on the sellers end but that is between him and paypal to sort out, if completed then you have paid.
