Scam or not?

Good day.

I sold something to someone and they suggested we use Paypal. I requested the money and received an email from account <removed> , but nothing shows in my paypal account. nobody replied on emails sent to that address.  The person keeps saying that i have to pay a fee to paypal, before money will be available. 

Was I scammed?

Hi @LizelledK and welcome, 

I have edited your post to remove the email address you shared as it is against our community guidelines however I can say that it is not an email address that we use. If there are any fees to be paid when receiving a payment it will be taken off the payment when you receive it in to your account. Please do not send any fees to anyone as this is not how receiving a payment works. I cannot say for sure if you are being scammed but what I can see is that this is not the normal process and we would never ask you for fees upfront before receiving a payment.
