SMS From PAYPAL

I recently purchased an item from my iPad for the first time.

within an hour I received a SMS fromPaypal or did I asking me to verify / authorise the payment . 

my account showed no dispute against the payment and I received a confirmation email from the supplier

Has anyone else had this?
