Request for payment

I received an email stating I had a request for payment. I assumed it was spam and ignored. I've just logged onto my paypal account and the same request is here too. How can a spam request that I don't recognise have compromised my official account?

Hi @debbienugent ,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that this seem a bit alarming getting a money request.

When requesting a payment, a Paypal account holder would only need the email address to request. It can happen that they are requesting from someone else that is similar to your email address. You do not have to worry since all request would need to be approved to go through, it is the reason why we cannot automatically accept payments or send payments without confirmation. Just make sure to deny the request if you know that there is no one who might be requesting from you or if you know you are not suppose to send any payment.

Hope this helps a little. Stay safe.
