Refund, unclaimed, eBay comprised account

Status of said transaction stands at unclaimed, no cancel option. eBay contacts me 10 days after purchase to say cancelled due to a compromised account of the seller. PayPal says can't open resolution case because transaction not completed. Tried to call..lol.. Any solutions ?

Unclaimed withOUT a cancel option means the payment has gone to a valid email address (so no cancel option) BUT not one linked to a Paypal account (probably because the scammer does not own a Paypal account).

So as there is no cancel option it will 'time out' 30 days post-payment.
