Refund to a hard closed checking account, what happens?

I have a refund but it’s going to a bank account that is closed. What will happen? I called the bank and they said they won’t send a check, so they send it back to the original sender? Will I get my money? How long does this typically take? Thank you!

If you funded your paypal payment via bank transfer then it will go back to your paypal balance and NOT your bank account.

However if you funded that paypal payment via a debit card then it will go back to your card / bank account.

However if the bank declines it then it should bounce back to your paypal balance, allow 14 days and if no show then contact customer services for a trace.
