Refund takes ages

On the 7th of March, I made a reservation from Airbnb with PayPal, but a few minutes later, the host cancelled, and the reservation was cancelled, so I made another one.

And then PayPal removed from my bank account the 2 purchases, and only on the day 10th, it was when the refund process started, it took till TODAY to be completed, but, it was a refund to the PayPal account. Now it's taking another 2 days to get into my bank account.

Why did this happen? Was it Airbnb fault to order PayPal to not remove my money?

If you funded the payment to the seller using bank transfer. What PayPal do is credit the recipient upfront on your behalf (so there is no delay in despatching your item). Then if you receive a refund in the meantime Paypal are unable to issue this until the original bank transfer completes.

Paypal payments are never instant, as paypal uses the slowest (cheapest) transfer options that is why they do the above, so there is no delay in the despatch of your item.

Once cleared back to your paypal account then they are automatically sent to your bank account.

PayPal is rubbish still waiting for my money to hit my account in £. Only £220 but they are making it seem like thousands just so they can make profit from it. Transfer to them is like 2 seconds but if you want your money it takes more than 3 days to get if I get it at all.
