Refund issue

I need to refund somebody and when I go on activity and issue refund it loads another screen saying “We can't process any refund right now due to technical reasons. Please try again later“

Hey Pollyj,

 

Welcome to our Community and thanks for asking your question here. 

In order to be able to refund a buyer, you would need to have enough money on your PayPal balance. If the balance is not sufficient for the refund you can get an error code. If you have enough balance and still get an error code I would advise reaching out to us so that we can refund the payment for you if necessary. You can contact us through the 'Help & contact' link at the bottom of each page.

You have to have enough balance in your PayPal account to do this. If not, you have to make a transfer in from your internet banking, using the details on the PayPal site about how to transfer in money. Why PayPal can't just take the funds from your debit card the same way they do when you make a purchase, I don't know. And why they don't tell you that when you try to issue a refund!! But I just tried it and it works.
