Refund from a merchant in another country

I placed an order using PayPal with an overseas merchant. I canceled the order within 2 hours and requested a refund. The merchant says he will issue a refund in a few days. Does it take a few days to issue a refund after a transaction is completed?

Not my site, this is a 'community' forum and not customer services.

However a seller can refund by clicking on the transaction in their Paypal account and using the 'refund' option on that details page, they don't need any info from you to do that.

BUT if its passed 180 days since payment then the refund option would be gone so they would then need to send it as a friends / family payment and the email address you log into your Paypal account with identifies that Paypal account.
