My son changed his email address without my knowledge. I sent him money via the old email address to which he no longer has access. I cancelled the payment, but now the refund is pending. How long will it be before the refund comes through? 30 days?
Also, I don't dare to update his email address because it might effect the refund? Would the email change cause a problem?

Hi @Steichjc,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community Forum!
If you sent a payment to an email address that is not linked to a PayPal account anymore, you should have the option to cancel the payment. After doing so, the amount will be reversed immediately but it may take some time to be credited back to you depending on the funding source used for the transaction. If you used a card, for example, it may take up to 30 days. Here is more information.
I hope this helps.
Martina
