Receiving payment

Hello, about 11 days ago i received an email from paypal saying that i received a payment of €500, it proceeded to say the transaction could take 21 days to access the payments however im not quite sure why this? Can anyone please help?

Thank you for your post. 

It sounds like these payment are subject to payment holds which apply to all PayPal accounts and there is no way we can override this. If you mark the item as dispatched this will speed up the release of the hold. You will find more information regarding these holds here.

Can you confirm the funds are actually showing in your paypal balance?

That is the issue, i recieved an email saying that i had recieved a payment of €500 however when i look on the PayPal app my balance is €0.00

OK then it would not be the new seller hold as that only applies if the funds are showing in your paypal balance.

Have you added euros as a receiving currency on your UK paypal account?

Yes i think so, how can I check?

Click on 'details' next to your paypal balance and select manage currencies under the pop up box, there see if you have added euros from the drop down box as a receiving currency.

ok one last thought, does the transaction show in your paypal 'activity' list??

If not then this could well be a SCAM?
