Receiving a credit from merchant to a card that was closed and no longer part of paypa.

I made a purchase through paypal in Aug. I did not receive the item so the merchant has given me a refund.

The problem is the purchase went through a debit visa account that is closed by me, not fraud or number change.

My question is, if there is no card to reapply to, would the funds be deposited in paypal instead?
