Receiving Payments - Invoices

Hi,

I'm supposed to receive a payment from a person for digital goods.

He claims that he has sent me the money but it is still not showing in my paypal balance.

However, i got these as two separate emails/updates/activities:

Activity 1: XXXX sent you an invoice for 400.00 USD‬

Activity 2 (1 minute later): XXXX updated your invoice. Amount due: 0.00 USD

What does this mean? Did he really send me the money and it is just not showing?

I dont really understand "invoices", but from what i know you give an invoice when youre expecting a payment not when you are paying.

It just looks to me as if he initiated an invoice then he paid himself xD.

I just wanna make sure i do not get scammed 😄

I appreciate the help

Thank you

If it was marked as an invoice then its probably a scam doing the rounds as its been sent by a buyer and altered to look as though he has paid you.
Signs its a scam are >>>
its an invoice BUT sellers send invoices not buyers
marked as paid
marked as gift
says payment won't show in your balance for eg 24 hours
can't be chargedback.
