Question about bank payment and balance

So this is a probably dumb question but I was wondering if I have $1 in my bank account and i get payed tomorrow, could I buy something over $1 using my bank instead of waiting till tomorrow. I heard the balance won’t be taken out of my bank account because it takes 3-5 days to take it out of the bank account There is a item on sale and I’ve been trying to get it and don’t want to over spend on it So would it be safe to do so or can I not do it at all

I wouldn't risk it, payments can leave your bank account from a few hours up to a few days later.

If its an ebay sale can you not win it and then pay a little later, most sellers will wait up to a couple of days.
