Protection when paying someone's email

Someone from shpock says they can't accept PayPal as they have an old version but says I can if I pay their email. Am I protected?

Thanks for posting in the PayPal Community forums for help with this issue. That is a great question and I'm glad that you came here to ask! I'm not sure what this person means by saying they can't accept PayPal because they have an "old version" but if the item you are purchasing is covered by our Buyer Protection policy and you send the payment as a "goods and services" payment, you should be good to go.
What are you buying from this person? How do they plan on delivering this product or service?
While PayPal Buyer Protection is great, if you believe the seller isn't being honest or might try to scam you, it would be best to not continue with this purchase.
