If my preferred payment method is my balance and I also have a debit card connected to my account, if a purchase is more than my balance will PayPal use my debit card instead?

Hi @RachNZ,
Thank you for joining us on the PayPal Community Forums! When making a payment on PayPal, you will be presented with the option to pay with any available balance, plus any additional funding sources to cover the remaining amount.
I hope this helps to answer your question.
